Johnny Mac - Field Surveyor
An experienced hand with 30 years of ornithological survey work behind him, John has been employed at various times by the RSPB the old NCC, EN and Birdlife International.
He is particularly at home in the uplands where he has honed his bird finding skills with countless discoveries of merlin, hen harrier, goshawk, dotterel and black grouse in particular. Back in the eighties he did pioneer work for the former CEGB on the bird strike risk along high voltage power lines on Anglesey and in North Wales.
Since 2003 John has worked as a freelance ornithological consultant on renewables project sites in a wide variety of locations between Lincolnshire and the Highlands of Scotland.
